This is Angie's Story

BOARD OF DIRECTORS CO-CHAIR OF SVU COMMITTEE
I was born and raised here in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I am the proud mother of two daughters and one granddaughter. I decided to join JAVA after seeing so many young people losing their lives. It’s really heartbreaking when they are from the same generation and age group as my own children. I see a need to help others get the justice they deserve. I just can’t sit idle and watch the crime escalate while leaders refuse to prosecute. I desperately wanted to make my community safer for my family and friends. It’s a shame when kids can’t go outside to play or walk down the street without fearing they could be gunned down. I strive to be a role model for others as the ladies in this JAVA group have inspired me. I hope the community rallies together with us to stop the violence. Together we can hold our leaders accountable, advocate for victims who no longer have a voice, and get justice for all. Being part of the Special Victims Unit (SVU) will allow me to help more cases get the attention they deserve.
